When setting up your new website don’t be tempted to pay someone to create thousands of backlinks to your website. If you do this, Google will know something is wrong and rank you accordingly. Think of backlinking as a slow, natural progression, concentrate on getting high quality and relevant links and before you start building links, make sure your site is fully optimized to receive any traffic from those links. Read and implement the suggestions our onsite SEO guide before embarking on your link building campaign.
It’s all about the Page Rank, the quality of links and how relevant they are.
Google page rank runs from PR0 to PR10 and is Google’s measure of web page authority. You will start with a page rank of 0 for all your web pages. It is your goal to increase that number as much as possible over the coming months and years, but let’s make one thing very clear, increasing page rank is really hard work, boring and very labour intensive. You can outsource this work, but expect to pay a lot of money for it, between £200-£500 per month is the norm. Again, don’t be tempted by cheap, spammy and underhand techniques to build links and web page authority. Always remember, Google is smarter than you and what may work today, may not work tomorrow.
Google updates page rank approximately every 3 months, so in these first months focus on building the right kind of link building strategy for your website.
Did you know that a single Page rank 9 backlink is worth thousands of Page rank 0 backlinks
